1. Fulfill their committee appointment from February 2012 – November 2012
2. Plan events which appeal to the entire Cyclone Family
3. Involve and encourage current ISU students and family members to attend CFW events
4. Recruit Family Weekend Aides (student volunteers that help with CFW)
5. Represent CFW at Club Fest, June Orientation, and other campus events
6. Coordinate with other planning committee members in preparing events
7. Coordinate with university officials and the Iowa State University Parents’ Association (ISUPA) to promote CFW events
8. Participate in all CFW activities
9. Turn in a final report after Cyclone Family Weekend 2012

Business Manager – one position (minimum 2hrs/week)

1. Attend meetings between chairs and advisers and serve as a member of the leadership team
2. Complete all clerical work
3. Submit application for Government of the Student Body student fees in January
4. Supervise expenditures, including approving expenses and writing vouchers for bills
5. Prepare a financial report after CFW to be distributed to the ISU Parents’ Association, Government of the Student Body, and Campus Organizations Accounting office
6. Order all merchandise and apparel for Family Weekend and committee
   1. Polos/t-shirts
   2. Fleeces
   3. Name tags
   4. All Family Weekend shirt
   5. Family of the Year plaque

Promotions Committee – multiple positions (2-3 hours a week)

1. Develop CFW marketing plan that will target different student populations in order to increase participation
2. Design all CFW publications (brochure, teasers, ads, posters, CFW booklet etc.)
3. Qualification: Must have experience utilizing publication software (Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Publisher, PageMaker, Macromedia, etc.) or be willing to learn
4. Design table tents, newspaper ads, radio spots, flyers, posters, news releases, and other PR material
5. Design/write invitations to events
6. Reserve booths, bulletin boards and display cases for CFW publicity
7. Hold office hours in the CFW East Student Office Space (minimum 2 hours/week)

Communications Committee – multiple positions (2-3 hours a week)

1. Respond to emails from future Cyclone Family Weekend participants and sponsors
2. Coordinate press releases and other publications for the media and Iowa State entities
3. Write thank you notes to event sponsors
4. Develop a list of and solicit Ames area businesses to serve as CFW sponsors
5. Gather and disseminate gift certificates, discounts and prizes
6. Represent CFW at Club Fest, and other campus events where recruitment will take place
7. Coordinate advertising, recruitment, and selection of Families of the Year.
8. Write introductions/press releases for Families of the Year for all CFW events
9. Recruit and train volunteers to help with CFW
10. Hold office hours in the CFW East Student Office Space (minimum 1 hour/week)

Events Committee – multiple positions (2-3 hours a week)

1. Coordinate, set-up, and clean-up, of all CFW events
2. Incorporate use of technology (PowerPoint, etc.) into event
3. Reserve space on central campus, and coordinate entertainment for the Friday afternoon kick-off
4. Plan all aspects of Friday evening special events including finding an act, contracting with booking agencies, and hosting Friday night entertainer while they are on campus
5. Establish communication with the Iowa State Center and outside agencies for events (i.e. Ames Convention and Visitor’s Bureau)
6. Reserve Jack Trice Stadium tailgate lot through Athletics department for our Saturday tailgate
7. Contract with rental company for tent, tables, chairs, stage and set-up of tents
8. Invite and assist college offices/student groups in the planning of their college receptions
9. Hold office hours in the CFW East Student Office Space (minimum 1 hour/week)

Catering Committee – multiple positions (2-3 hours a week)

1. Coordinate menu and facility set-up with ISU Dining for Family Weekend events such as tailgate and brunch
2. Hold meetings with ISU Dining regarding menu options and pricing
3. Direct committee and volunteers during events
4. Coordinate with other planning committee members to determine what they need
5. Hold office hours in the CFW East Student Office Space (minimum 1 hour/week)

Family Weekend Aide (multiple positions)

We will be in need of volunteers the weekend of CFW (Oct 5-7). Being a Family Weekend Aide is a good way to start getting involved with Cyclone Family Weekend if you are interested in learning more about CFW, participating in the committee in the future, or just wanting to help out. Some of the responsibilities of a Family Weekend Aide include:

1. Set up and clean up of CFW events
2. Fielding questions from CFW participants
3. Guiding participants or giving directions to the location of CFW events
4. Helping all CFW events run smoothly
